Too often, HR and Diversity & Inclusion -- despite their organizational symbiosis -- are at odds with one another. Whether it’s frustration with the other side’s lack of understanding, support, and accountability to what they each see as vital objectives within their own function, or whether it’s simple indifference, both sides take a hit in their effectiveness when they don’t see that they need each other to succeed. But the converse is also stunningly true and powerful. When HR and D&I executives work in philosophical, strategic, and programmatic tandem - the ability to achieve truly inclusive culture change and breakthrough in representation can be an unstoppable force!
The truth is - Diversity & Inclusion can’t move forward without the technical expertise of HR leaders in talent acquisition, management, and development. At the same time - HR leaders can’t create and advance effective talent and employee benefit programs without understanding the dynamics of the various growing and exceptionally diverse employee populations. The reality is that these diverse populations move, interact, and aspire in ways that defy not only conventional wisdom but even the most innovative of HR approaches when they are not grounded in diversity realities.
In this Diversity Best Practice session SVPs HR, Diversity & Inclusion Executives, and functional leaders from both sides will join forces for frank, challenging, and inspirational conversations. Together, we have the opportunity to forge new paradigms and principles for how HR and D&I can work together effectively and with great synergy.
