Diversity on Twitter

Twitter is shaping the way key messages are communicated. Even the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is leveraging the microblogging platform. However, when it comes to workplace diversity and inclusion, professionals have been slow to adopt this social media tool. (See: Where are Diversity Practitioners in the Social Media Movement?)

Yet, there are a few who are making their marks as diversity thought leaders in the Twitterverse. Diversity Best Practices has identified five diversity aficionados we believe everyone working in the field should be following.

To determine this list, Diversity Best Practices studied Twitter’s diversity-centered conversations. Our review focused on Twitter accounts maintained by individuals rather than organizations. Our final selection represents those that Twitter measurement services, such as Klout.com, have identified as delivering consistent and focused diversity messages.

Read on the learn more about these diversity thought leaders. We also encourage you to check out the Twitter contributions of Diversity Best Practices’ president Andrés Tapia @AndresTTapia.
